Tartan Day Set For Sunday In Downtown Fergus

The streets will come alive with the sounds of bagpipes as the Fergus Pipe Band and Grand Celtic Pipe Band roam through town.

National Tartan Day is this Sunday April 6th - come celebrate a Scottish tradition with us in downtown Fergus! Be transported back to Scotland with a full day of activities and listen to some live Celtic-style music. Get your feet a movin’ with a History Walk - learn the history behind how Fergus is the town it is today.

Want something for the kiddos? Head behind the library for McKiddies games and demonstrations. Visit the Play with Clay tent for activities and enjoy watching the Blue Bonnet Lassies perform traditional highland dancing.

In addition to Highland Dancers and various activities, the Fergus Pipe Band & Grand Celtic Pipe Band will be wandering on St. Andrew Street between 11 am and 4 pm, stopping at random spots downtown to play a set and showing up in some of the pubs and restaurants.

Check out the local shops as they participate in the festivities.
