Claymor Clan is an authentic Scottish bagpipes and percussion ensemble and
Celtic.
Archibald MacAlister, originally from Lochaber, Western Highlands, Scotland, Pipe Major, has been the Artistic Director since 2001.
The Pipeband of the South of France!
The Scottish bagpipe resonates to the tunes of Celtic music in the south of France, between Marseille, Montpellier, Nimes and Avignon. The Scottish and Irish repertoire, if it retains its strong identity, is dusted off by the group before being served again with all its smoky and peaty aromas according to the “Islay” tradition!
Strolling or static, the visual and sound impact of their show carries the public away in a frantic whirlwind. Thus the rigor in the execution and the virtuosity of the different soloists come together to animate a tribal trance which is difficult to resist; the tamed power of the king of the Highlands instrument brings us back to the sources of Scotland and an eternal Celticity.
