The Indiana Emerald Society was established on August 20, 1997 in Evansville, Indiana. On March 13, 1999 the Indiana Emerald Society became an official chapter of the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies. The Society received Not-for-Profit tax status under Internal revenue Code 501 (c) (3) on February 1, 2000.
The Indiana Emerald Society currently has 100+ members and is growing.
The Society has a Pipe Band which plays Police, Fire and Military Funerals.
