The Palmetto Pipes & Drums are based in Columbia, South Carolina, and are the midlands only community pipe band. We are a grade 4 competition pipe band, and can be seen competing at events across the Southeast.
Palmetto Pipes and Drums was founded in 1996, in the humble beginnings of Pipe Major Billy DuBose’s Kitchen. We have since gone on to win awards in both Grade 4 and 5, including the Grade 4 EUSPBA Champions.
We are always interested in opportunities to play and perform. We are available as a band for parades and events and we also have individual pipers and drummers for smaller events such as funerals, birthdays and weddings.
We will be playing at a variety of events, including concerts, parades, and private events for organizations such as Robert Burns and Saint Andrews Societies, as well as a variety of Highland games. We hope to see you soon!
Palmetto Pipes and Drums meets every Tuesday night to give lessons and to practice together as a band. We meet at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church in West Columbia. If you are interested in visiting the band or taking lessons to learn the Great Highland Bagpipes and drums
